Suspension Calathea Ornata Medium: A Tropical Tapestry of Light and Intricate Life

Inspired by the Striking Stripes of the Amazon’s Calathea Ornata

The Calathea Collection, a homage to the untamed elegance of tropical flora, finds its equilibrium in the Ornata Medium. This mid-scale design channels the plant’s signature striped leaves—symbols of nature’s intricate artistry and vital energy—into a suspended dance of bronze and glass. The piece merges organic forms with handcrafted innovation, its sinuous framework echoing the plant’s rhythmic growth while glass elements refract light into prismatic constellations. A testament to harmony between Earth’s rhythms and luminous creativity, it transforms spaces into sanctuaries where wild beauty and timeless balance coexist.

A Mid-Scale Celebration of Botanical Precision

The Ornata Medium balances presence and intimacy, its bronze structure twisting like the vines of a rainforest, while glass leaves cascade in intricate, striated forms. Each glass element is crafted to mimic the Calathea’s velvety foliage, casting ever-shifting shadows and light patterns that evoke the dappled glow beneath a jungle canopy. This interplay of textures and materials creates a visual dialogue between fragility and resilience, making it ideal for spaces seeking a nature-inspired statement without overwhelming scale—whether above a dining table or in a modern lounge.

Crafted for Timeless Individuality

Serip’s passion for bespoke design is the soul of the Calathea Collection. The Ornata Medium invites clients to reimagine its metal and glass finishes, ensuring it becomes a signature piece—a testament to personal vision. Its mid-scale form adapts seamlessly to both classic traditions and avant-garde schemes, transcending function to become a sculptural ode to craftsmanship and the untamed spirit of nature.

A Rebellion Against the Mechanical

In a world fixated on industrial sameness, Serip champions the beauty of the unpolished. The Ornata Medium rejects mechanical precision, embracing the irregularity of handcrafted artistry. Each piece is shaped by human touch, its organic curves and textured surfaces a deliberate homage to nature’s wild essence. This philosophy positions Serip as a defiant voice in a market obsessed with uniformity, offering spaces a touch of raw, unscripted elegance.

Where Light Meets the Jungle’s Pulse

The Ornata Medium’s glass and bronze collaborate to create a luminous celebration of life. As light filters through the glass, it spills across surfaces in ever-shifting hues, echoing the vibrant energy of a rainforest. The warmth of bronze contrasts with the clarity of glass , weaving a narrative of earth and sky, stillness and growth—a visual meditation on nature’s timeless balance.
